The Company

Blackhawk® was founded in 1993 by former Navy SEAL Mike Noell, now CEO of BlackHawk Products Group. Noell was inspired by a treacherous experience he had in Northern Iraq when his pack failed, dropping gear on the enemy minefield he was traversing. Noell vowed that if he survived the experience he would create dependable gear that would hold up when it really needs to.

True to his word, when he returned to the private sector, Noell began making custom gear and packs in a garage. His company has been growing ever since, through key acquisitions and new product development. The company’s obsession with quality now makes BlackHawk ops gear the choice of Special Operation units around the world.

BlackHawk Products Group is headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, with offices and manufacturing facilities in Montana, North Carolina, Nevada, Idaho and Germany.
